Healthy Holiday Snacks

We can’t believe that the holidays are already here! Just yesterday it seems like we were talking about Halloween and avoiding some of those super sugary treats. This time of year can be really hard with all of the many holidays and all the eating!

In addition to watching out for your overall health, you need to watch out for your teeth too. Eating healthier options and continuing to flossand brush your teeth every day will help.

Here are some healthy holiday treats for you and your family this year.

Santa Hat Kabobs

These treats are festive and healthy! Made of nothing but fruit, these treats are great for satisfying any sweets craving.

1.Cut the tops off of strawberries and cut a banana into slices

2.On a toothpick, assemble the hat with a strawberry (point up), banana slice, and green grape

3.If you want to add a final Santa touch, you can put a small marshmallow on the top

We prefer the Santa hat without the marshmallow, but this final touch does make it even more festive!

Snowman Popcorn Cups

These treats are SO easy to assemble and would be perfect for a holiday movie night with the family. You’ll only need popcorn, clear cups, some markers, and ribbon.

1.Make or get some popcorn (the healthier the better!)

2.Draw eyes, a nose, mouth, and buttons on the clear cup

3.Tie a ribbon around the cup

4.Fill up with popcorn

Such an easy and fun snack for all ages.

Holiday Fruit or Veggie Plate

Another great option for all those holiday potlucks is a festive fruit or veggie plate. This is also an option that does not take much time or effort. Simply get some green fruits or veggies (broccoli, cucumber, grapes, apples) and some other fruit or veggies as accents. Cut them up and arrange them in a fun holiday shape! A tree is an easy option, but there are many other ones too.

Before or after the holiday festivities, make sure to call Sterling Dental Center today to schedule your next checkup !
